The Annual Douglass Senior Style Show at the Douglass Community Center is a community-favorite event! This lively fashion show is modeled by our older adults and includes:
- A delicious meal
- Fellowship time
- Music and dancing
- Three categories of models — plus a showstopper!
We need volunteers to help make this event a success. Multiple shifts are available, so you can choose the one that best fits your schedule.
Volunteer Shifts
1. Set-Up (11:00 AM – 2:00 PM):
- Assist staff with setting up the gym, tables, chairs, and décor.
2. Food Service & Busing (2:30 PM – 6:00 PM):
- Help seniors through the buffet line
- Serve food and drinks
- Clear finished plates and dispose of items during the show
3. Event Assistance (11:00 AM – 8:00 PM)
- Support event staff with various needs throughout the day
- Example tasks: ushering guests to seats, assisting seniors with finishing touches for their outfits
4. Tear-Down (6:00 PM – 8:00 PM)
- Clean up all materials
- Help load items into the box truck
Additional Details
- Preferred Skills: Food service experience and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Optional Dress Rehearsal: Thursday, September 18 at 5:00 PM (Douglass Community Center). Volunteers are welcome to attend.
- Dress Code: Black pants, black closed-toed shoes, and a black shirt (polo or button-up preferred).
- Check-In: Upon arrival, please ask for Anna Menendez at the Douglass Community Center.
