Calling all animal lovers! Help us make Little Veterinarian School an unforgettable experience for kids ages 3 to 12 as they step into the paws and hooves of real veterinarians. This hands-on event is perfect for curious young minds who dream of caring for animals. A special live animal presentation will take place at 11:00 AM, making this a truly exciting day for participants and volunteers alike!
We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to help bring this event to life in various fun and engaging roles. Training and activity instructions will be provided before the live presentation.
Volunteer Roles: (Please reference the role you’re interested in when signing up.)
- Setup (9am-10am) – Help set up the event space before doors open.
- Welcoming (10am-11am) – Greet families and direct them as they arrive.
- Dog & Cat Vet Role (9:50am-11am) – Pretend to be a small animal vet. Bring a laptop if possible. Script and video will be provided.
- Avian Vet Role (9:50am-11am) – Play the part of a bird vet. Bring a laptop if possible. Script and video will be provided.
- Wildlife Vet Role (9:50am-11am) – Take on the role of a wildlife vet. Bring a laptop if possible. Script and video will be provided.
- Event Leaders (11:15am-1pm) – Support crowd control and guide small groups through activities after the live animal presentation. All activities are simple and will be explained ahead of time.
- Cleanup (1pm-1:45pm) - Help cleanup after the event concludes.
Important Notes
- Please dress appropriately for working with children.
- Volunteers should arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled shift.
- Meet Joanna Menendie in the Innovation Center or Group Fitness Room on the second floor of the Martens Center.
