Volunteer: Lindsay Garden MaintenanceJoin the CPD Horticulture staff for a couple hours of gardening in a friendly, low stress environment. CPD staff will work alongside volunteers to keep the Lindsay New American Garden beautiful through the changing seasons. Lindsay Garden is one of Champaign Park District's largest perennial garden and a true hidden gem. This is a reoccurring event on the third Tuesday of every month. Each month the garden will look a little bit different as it grows and matures. Tasks may range from spring cleanup, weeding, pruning, dead heading, splitting and transplanting and putting the garden to bed in the fall.
For experienced gardeners, gardener wannabes and everyone in-between. This is a perfect volunteer opportunity for someone whoenjoys the outdoorsloves to gardenwould like to learn more about gardeningjust wants to fit some low impact exercise into their schedule Dress Code - Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather and outdoor yard work. They should also bring their own gardening gloves and water to drink. All tools will be provided. Tools that will be used - pruners, loppers, hand trowels, shovels, rakes.
